About

AI Bubble Tycoon is a free browser game about a closed AI economy. It is satire, and the satire lives in the accounting rather than in a lecture: the game never argues that bubbles are bad. It makes you build one and then hands you the receipt.

Is any of this real?

No. Every corporation, person and deal in this game is invented. VectorForge, Detropic Research, Nimbus Basin, Credulous Capital, Boring Industries and Gridfather Energy do not exist and are not stand-ins for any specific real company. Any resemblance to a real organisation is a resemblance to an industry pattern, not to a business.

All corporations, persons and deals are fictional and are composite satire. This is not investment advice.

How it was built

The economy is integer arithmetic in a pure module with no access to a clock, a random number generator or the page. That is what makes a run reproducible from its seed and its list of actions, and it is why everybody playing a given day gets exactly the same game.

Before any of the art existed, five automated players were run across 500 fixed seeds to check that the game is worth playing: that timing your exit beats both pure hype and pure virtue, that holding on too long usually ends at zero, and that the rare good ending is genuinely rare and almost always poorer than leaving at the right moment.

There is no server. No account, no leaderboard, no upload. Your records live in your own browser and the sound is generated in code rather than downloaded, which is also why the whole game is smaller than one photograph.

Achievements

There are 20, four of which unlock an interface skin. One of them requires reaching the end without running a single circular deal.
