Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked through Google's certified TCF v2.2 consent platform before any advertising script runs. Until a choice is made, nothing advertising-related loads.
Whether you are asked is decided from your browser's own time zone — no network call, no IP lookup, no third party. Asking a geolocation service where you are in order to decide whether to ask permission to track you would be its own joke.
Where the consent tool applies, it can be reopened from the notice it shows and
your choice replaced. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the
localStorage entry, and with it your scores and settings — we have no
copy, which is the same property that means we have nothing about you to lose.
